Blandine is a Canadian Pop R& B singer/ songwriter born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Canada. At a very young age, she fell in love with music by listening to African, American and European music where she got her influences from. Blandine was surrounded by great music which got her to mimic great artists such as Chaka Khan, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Pavarotti etc.She later joined her secondary school choir, where she developed classical and afrocentric vocal skills.



At the age of 15, her family moved to Toronto,Canada . In Toronto she was performing in many talent shows and school recitals. Through her performances, she caught the attention of many musical personalities who helped her develop her singing skills. While in university she auditioned for competitions like Canadian Idol and Star Academy (in Montréal), she never made it to the finals but was made an offer to sing back ups for Star Academy’s opening and closing ceremonies.


At age 20, she performed in several festivals in Toronto, New York, Edmonton, Detroit, New Jersey etc, with artists like, Donne Roberts, Simply the Best and Awilo Longomba. She later landed a role as a back-up singer for another Canadian artist Melanie Durant, with whom she went on tour with and learned more about the world of show business
.


Recently, Blandine decided to venture out as a solo artist, and she’s now working on her first solo project. She says that her album will be an embodiment of different sounds along the Pop,R&B and Dance genres.This will allow her to truly manifest her multiple musical inspirations. Expect to hear an ear-full from Blandine in the near future, as this very talented young lady is here to stay for a while.
