Shaunna Marie

Born in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) 24 years ago, Shaunna Marie has always been into entertainment. She first started singing at family gatherings at the tender age of six. She’d follow her mother around the house, parroting back the tunes she heard from the radio, television shows and even commercials. She was soaking up influences like a sponge.

Shaunna Marie’s heritage is a mix of races. She was brought up as a Christian and at 8 years old, she was already in the choir at her local church. During her early years Shaunna Marie grew to embrace many musical genres, listening heavily to mainstream R&B, Hip-hop, Alternative Rock, Dance, Pop, Christian Contemporary and a variety of others.

In high school she began acting, taking part in the various school plays and musicals. For Shaunna Marie, being on stage, in front of an audience, felt very good. She felt at home.

At the age of 14 she started modeling. Over the following years the demand for her model physique became so overwhelming that she had to put singing and acting aside and just focus on the runways and photo-shoots. But singing always remained her number one dream. In 2006 Shaunna Marie met with a friend that eventually introduced her to Qryptonik Records’ CEO and producer, Qing.Que.

Qing, impressed with her singing style and “soothing” voice, immediately recruited her. They started working together on her craft and soon enough, she was in the studio recording materials. She also started putting a lot of time and effort into developing her craft by performing in shows all over North America. She has performed in cities such as Montreal, New York, Washington D.C, Atlanta and of course Toronto, just to name a few. In July of 2007, her first promo EP, titled Beautiful Surprise was released by Qryptonik Records.

Living in Toronto has strongly influenced her artistry as she incorporates many cross-cultural sounds into her music .Shaunna Marie’s music tends to blend all her musical influences into one. She expressed that she enjoys the freedom of the art of music and doesn’t want herself to be classified into only one genre of music. She says, “I just want to make good music, regardless if it’s R&B, Dance, Soul, or even a combination of all of these genres”. The emotion she communicates through her voice and the content of her material makes her stands out. Armed with her kind of determination and perseverance, she’s definitely destined to become a star.

This model, actress, singer is about to shake the industry. Not only because of her unique physique, amazing eyes and beautiful smile, but mostly because she sings from the heart and makes you feel it in ways that are reminiscent of classical old-school (feel-good) music.
